Here is a look at each team:
Badminton
Bella Campbell (helm), Maryanne Reyes (captain), Izza Belle Ygnalaga, Martha Approach, Anna Douglas, Mary Latrella, Zoie Cortez, Emma Hall, Meri Baltazar, Ixchel Sanchez, America Garcia and Fatima Pena are Vintage'south top returning players.
Vintage beat Rodriguez Wednesday, 14-1.
"We too have some returning exhibition players besides as some immature ladder players," said passenger vehicle Robyn Del Zompo.
No Crushers advanced to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section tournament for Vintage last year. But the doubles team of Douglas and Ygnalaga came within i game of making it to the section event.
Carla Magana, a freshman, is a top newcomer who on the team's ladder.

"She is an incredible athlete and is a natural badminton thespian," said Del Zompo. "As soon as she gets some feel behind her, she will be one that will exist hard to crush."

"We have a lot of new players this year and are still building," said Del Zompo. "Our veteran players play hard for us and really strive for a win. Jason Brandow, Zach Geary, Cole Ridling, Nolan Brown, Marek Codron, Ronnie Porter, Max Phipps, Eli Woods and Felix Ortiz are the top returning players for Vintage (three-ii).
The Crushers opened the flavour with wins over Maria Carrillo-Santa Rosa, 12-4, and American Canyon, 5-1. They lost their adjacent two games, falling to Vanden, 6-1, and Oak Ridge-El Dorado Hills, 10-0.
The Crushers then beat Sonoma Valley, 5-four.

Leading the Crushers were Riley Hatfield, Jacob Aaron and Dylan McIntyre, each with a nine-hole round of 37. Will Hiserman (twoscore), Ben Poulsen (42) and Zach Guck (45) also played for Vintage.
The Crushers shot a 424 total and took ninth place out of 20 teams on Monday at the 23rd annual Thunder Invitational at Whitney Oaks Golf Lodge in Rocklin.
Hatield led the way with an 80. Hiserman carded an 81, Aaron had an 83, Guck shot 88, and Poulsen had a 93.
Boys Lawn tennis
Connor Castalazo and Cole Geschwender, who won the league doubles championship concluding year, are the summit returning players. Geschwender will be joining the squad this week and is playing limited matches because of his commitment to soccer.
"Connor is still getting his game dorsum, but has looked sharp in his last couple of matches," said head passenger vehicle Chris Cole.
Jackson Cole is undefeated in five matches thus far. He also plays when he can considering he is also a pitcher/outfielder on the Vintage freshman baseball squad.
Jack Diakon, Al Simpkins, Johnny Salazar and Abe Lopez too play singles.
"All four have contributed to our victories," said Coach Cole.
Vintage has a 4-1 record and is in 2nd place in the MEL.
Vintage'due south Nos. 1, 2 and iii doubles teams have not lost a set thus far.
The teams of Antonio Fernandez/Adam Maxson, Matt Weston/Justin Berilla, and Theo Skille/Caden Gallaway have carried the load for the Crushers' doubles teams.
"Now that I have seen what the guys tin can do, I can make a few adjustments," said Coach Cole. "If my singles guys can play a trivial better, we have a shot at a league championship … which would exist an awesome farewell for us, as this is our last flavour in the MEL."
Softball
Cat Guidry, Vintage'south get-go-yr coach, played softball at Vista del Lago Loftier-Folsom and UC Davis. She takes over for Saanen Kerson, who resigned in December after three years as Vintage's coach. The Crushers were 12-x overall, 9-half-dozen in the Monticello Empire League terminal twelvemonth.

"A lilliputian flake of a rough start, but we are working difficult to go on track," said Guidry. "They are all working very difficult to earn their starting positions.
"My expectations are that we work hard as a squad, put in the work at practice and perform in games. Nosotros are coming together as a squad day past day and getting to know each other, on and off the field. We expect forward to making this an amazing season."
Guidry received beginning-team All-Sierra Valley Briefing honors in each of her final two seasons at Vista del Lago, from which she graduated in 2012. She was the team MVP and Offensive Histrion of the Year both years.
Guidry played the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a center fielder for UC Davis.
Swimming and Diving
The top swimmers and divers on the girls team are Olivia Neal (200 and 500 freestyles), Emily Torres (freestyle events and 100 backstroke), Jenn Aragon (200 individual medley, 500 free), Mikayla Medina (100 and 200 frees), Eva Pavon (50 and 100 frees), Sophia Bristow (50 free), Yasmeen Jabarin (100 butterfly, 100 dorsum), Ally Peterson (diving), Lindee Clem (diving, 50 costless), Aedyn Frazer (diving, freestyle events), Makala Lopez (100 wing, 100 back, 200 IM), Grace O'Dwyer (200 and 500 free, 200 IM), Maya Douglas (100 breaststroke), Ava Anderson (100 back, 100 breaststroke, 200 free), and Josephine Borsetto (100 back).
Peterson had a standout 2017 season in diving, equally she was All-MEL, fourth at the Sac-Joaquin Section meet, and 17th at the CIF State Meet. Frazer placed 9th in diving at the section see terminal twelvemonth.

"The boys varsity is made up of many novices to the sport of high school pond," said Saunders. "They are working difficult to become solid varsity swimmers."
New in the group is Montoro, who moved from Washington, D.C.
"I desire the Vintage swim and dive squad to have a successful 2018 season," said Saunders. "The other coaches and I want the athletes to swim or dive to the all-time of their ability and work as a team.
"This is 1 of the youngest varsity teams we have coached and one of the largest JV teams also."

Track and Field
Head charabanc Brian Pruyn said the boys team is young later on graduating many of its top athletes last year.
